About Rina
I have spent nineteen wonderful years inspiring more than 820 students through the study of zoology botany and natural history. My academic background includes a master's degree in zoology and extensive field research in ornithology and plant ecology. I have worked as a museum educator field biologist and secondary school teacher giving me a rich and varied perspective on biology education. My students have become zoologists botanists conservation officers science writers and natural history broadcasters. I am known for my encyclopedic knowledge of natural history my engaging storytelling and my ability to inspire wonder in even the most reluctant students. I maintain extensive natural history collections and photographic archives that I use in teaching. Outside of tutoring I lead natural history expeditions contribute to wildlife recording schemes and write about natural history for popular audiences. I believe that understanding and appreciating the diversity of life is essential for human well-being and planetary health and I am committed to passing that understanding to every student I teach.

My biology teaching reflects nineteen years of experience and a lifelong passion for the natural world. I teach zoology through comparative anatomy behavior ecology and evolution using extensive visual resources specimen analysis and connections to conservation. Botany is taught through plant anatomy physiology taxonomy and the critical role of plants in ecosystems and agriculture. Natural history is integrated throughout providing the historical context and observational foundation that enriches modern biological science. I emphasize field skills including species identification habitat assessment and data collection methods that prepare students for ecological careers. My lessons incorporate extensive use of museum specimens herbarium collections and wildlife documentaries alongside traditional instruction. For exam preparation I teach comprehensive content coverage with attention to the precise terminology diagram work and extended writing required for top grades. I also guide students in developing independent research projects natural history collections and scientific illustration skills. My teaching is characterized by deep knowledge storytelling ability and a contagious enthusiasm for living organisms. I maintain active fieldwork and contribute to natural history societies.
