About Qabas
Welcome! My name is Qabas Alkaissi, and I am thrilled to be your instructor and mentor.
As a Computer Engineer with a deep passion for hardware design, I have dedicated my career to mastering complex technical concepts and sharing that knowledge with aspiring engineers. My academic and professional journey includes serving as a Section Leader for Stanford University’s Code in Place program to teach introductory Python. I have also conducted autonomous vehicle research at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), evaluating adversarial threat scenarios. Furthermore, I led as the Vice President of the ACM student chapter at Princess Sumaya University for Technology, where I graduated ranked 1st in the School of Engineering with a 4.0 GPA.
In our learning environment, my primary goal is your success. I believe that mastering complex systems requires hands-on problem-solving within a supportive, collaborative atmosphere. You can expect a highly structured, engaging, and professional approach to our time together. I am here to guide you through the challenges, celebrate your breakthroughs, and help you build a robust technical foundation for your future career. Let’s get started on building something incredible together.

I don't believe in memorizing solutions. My goal is to teach you how to look at a difficult question, figure out what it is actually asking, and build a path toward solving it.
My teaching is highly problem-oriented and built around active recall and spaced repetition. Rather than simply explaining a concept and giving you a list of formulas to memorize, I work through questions with you and focus on the reasoning behind each step: how to recognize patterns, choose an appropriate approach, break complex problems into manageable pieces, and debug your thinking when you get stuck. I regularly revisit previously covered concepts so that knowledge is retained rather than forgotten after the exam.
A typical lesson starts by identifying what you already understand and where you're getting stuck. We then tackle a few carefully chosen problems, gradually moving from guided examples to problems you solve independently. For programming, this can include tracing code, debugging, discussing algorithmic complexity, and comparing different approaches. For mathematics and engineering subjects, I focus on understanding the underlying logic and applying it to unfamiliar problems rather than relying on memorized procedures.
I teach university students and advanced school students in subjects including Algorithms, Data Structures, C++, Python, Mathematics, and core Computer Engineering subjects. I can also help with exam preparation, difficult course material, problem-solving practice, programming fundamentals, and building a stronger conceptual foundation.
I have maintained a 100% pass rate among the students I have tutored, with my approach centered on making sure students can independently apply what they learn rather than simply follow along during a lesson.
What sets me apart is that I am not interested in making you dependent on a tutor. The goal is for you to eventually look at a question you've never seen before, know where to start, and have the tools to work your way to the answer.
