About Sohini

I am an independent researcher and teacher with a Master’s degree in Sociology from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, and a UGC-NET qualification in the same subject. I am also preparing to begin my PhD, with research interests in gender and sexuality studies, marginalization, inequality, public policy, and cultural representation. Teaching for me is not just about covering the syllabus but about helping students see how Sociology connects to everyday life. I use examples from media, art, and society to make concepts clear and relatable. My aim is to create a space where students can ask questions freely, build confidence in their ideas, and prepare effectively for their exams, whether they are in school, university, or working towards UPSC.

About the lesson

I make Sociology and Social Sciences simple, clear, and relatable. My approach focuses on understanding before memorisation, using real-world examples, current affairs, and structured notes. Whether you’re in Classes 9–12, BA, MA, or preparing for UPSC, I adapt lessons to your level, encourage interactive discussions, and guide you in answer writing, concept clarity, and exam strategy. What makes my classes different is the balance of academic depth with practical application, so learning supports both your exams and overall understanding.
