About Juliet
I’m an Artificial Intelligence Engineering student at the University of Pennsylvania with experience as a teaching assistant. Through my coursework and TA role, I’ve built a strong foundation in Java and learned how to explain programming concepts in a clear, approachable way. I’m organized, patient, and come to each lesson prepared. I focus on helping students understand the material rather than just memorize steps, and I try to make coding feel less overwhelming by breaking problems down and practicing together. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and confident working through challenges on their own. I primarily work with middle school and high school students, beginners learning Java, or students in introductory computer science classes who want extra support or clearer explanations in a one-on-one setting.

My tutoring style is supportive, clear, and very hands-on. I’ve worked as a teaching assistant, so I’m used to explaining coding concepts in simple terms and helping students work through confusion without feeling rushed or discouraged. I focus on building confidence and real understanding, especially for students who are new to Java or computer science.
In a typical lesson, we’ll start by reviewing what the student is learning in class or what they want to improve. Then we’ll work through examples together and spend most of the time actually writing code. I like to use small projects and exercises—such as simple games, basic programs, or logic challenges—to help concepts stick. As students improve, I gradually encourage them to think through problems on their own while I guide and correct along the way.
What sets me apart is my teaching experience combined with a strong technical background. As a TA, I’ve seen where students commonly get stuck and know how to explain things in a way that clicks. I also emphasize good coding habits early, not just getting code to run.
My lessons are best for middle school and high school students, beginners learning Java, or students in introductory computer science classes who want extra support, clearer explanations, or more practice through real examples.
