About Hannah
I am a 5th year medical student studying at UNSW, but I am a violinist at heart. I have been playing violin since age 5. Music gave me so many important skills, including understanding the value of hard work and determination, as well as amazing opportunities to perform with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, meet other passionate musicians and be a part of amazing ensembles to make beautiful music! I am still passionately pursuing violin, being a part of Doctor's Orchestras and the Sydney Youth Orchestra. However, I would love the opportunity to teach aspiring young musicians. I have always enjoyed teaching violin, which I have been doing for 6 years, as it offers me the opportunity to help other people achieve their dreams, as well as inspire love and passion for music

I am friendly, cheerful and passionate about music, keen to teach all students who are interested in learning and enjoy violin. I like to focus on the fundamentals during lessons: intonation, rhythm and musicality. I teach this by offering a range of level-appropriate pieces for the student to choose their favourite piece and help them learn the music over several months. To improve technical skills, I like to get my students to learn one scale, arpeggio and exercises from one key. I like to connect with my students, keep them engaged during the lesson with fun activities. I also use a notebook to summarise what we covered during the lesson, areas to focus on for practice before our next lesson and use a sticker system and small prizes to help motivate the students. I am experienced in violin teaching and have had several students in the past. I offer violin lessons for AMEB grade 1-6, but I have taught beginner violin students in the past. Depending on age, I prefer lessons to run from 30-45 minutes to ensure the student remains engaged and is not overwhelmed during the lesson.

Perfect! Very friendly and patient with my kids who are beginners.
Highly recommended.Perfect! Hannah is excellent. She clearly knows violin, but also has an excellent grasp on the teaching side as well. And to top it off she has the confidence to direct our daughter what to practice, and us on how to prepare. We are impressed after the first 3 sessions, and plan to continue on.
