About Caroline
I have been tutoring students with diagnosed and suspected learning disabilities to read and spell using an Orton-Gillinghman approach for the last two years. I have also tutored students online and in person for over six years. I have also worked as a counsellor in a school setting, so I understand the emotional challenges that some students face.
I have a B.A. in Psychology with an emphasis on developmental psychology, which gives me a solid background in how children learn and develop. I also have a TESOL teaching certificate, which enables me to teach English as a second language to students from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
My goal is to provide individualized and supportive tutoring that meets the needs and goals of each student. I believe that every student can learn and succeed with the right guidance and encouragement. Specializing in the Orton-Gillingham approach, I offer tutoring services for children aged 6 to 12, providing a gold-standard educational experience for students with dyslexia, ADHD or any students with reading difficulties.
My interactive lessons are conducted on the Koala Go platform, an innovative virtual classroom environment that surpasses traditional platforms like Zoom.
Utilizing dynamic online tools, students engage in hands-on learning, manipulating letters and words directly. The Koala Go experience is enriched with features such as an interactive whiteboard, shared browser, educational games, and a 3D virtual playground similar to Minecraft.
Students stay motivated by earning gems to personalize their learning space and avatars.
Each session is customized to the individual's learning pace and progression, following a structured and logical sequence of instruction.
