About Wendell

As a 3-time HS DC Chess Champion and winning other tournaments. I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to every lesson. I’ve been featured in the Washington Post, interviewed for Life of a King, based true story of my chess coach Eugene Brown, I have also studied under a FIDE Chess Master and International Chess Master. I have received coaching myself to become a good teacher and I’m passionate about teaching chess in a way that inspires growth. Here’s the best part: Every lesson you take supports a bigger mission. Some of the proceeds from chess lessons are donated to Big Chair Chess Club, a nonprofit I believe in that helps underserved youth and reduces recidivism through chess. I’m dedicated to using chess as a tool for positive change in the community. As a US Chess Affiliate and US Safe Sport Certified coach, you can trust that you’re in good hands.

About the lesson

I specialize in making chess fun, engaging, and mentally stimulating for beginner and intermediate players. With over 20 years of coaching experience. Interactive Chessboard for online lessons get hands on experience not just a lecture. I create a custom study environment, base on your skill level, and playing style going through your games to focus on areas of improvement.
