Navid was kind enough to teach me swimming lessons before my holiday. We had booked in 6 swimming sessions before my trip.
I was afraid of the water to begin with. I used to be scared to get into the water, even to the point I wasn't ready to go for the swimming lesson everytime!
But when we started lesson 1, Navid completely understood my level of fear and where my faults lied. He was a great judge on what needed to be worked on. We started with simple breathing techniques whilst just standing in the water.
As time went on, he taught me to do swimming strokes by holding on to the side, or using floats, and immediately caught where my breathing techniques were wrong. He had corrected that, and made me understand the process that all swimmers follow.
By Lesson 3, I was able to get my head under water and swim about 5-10m unassisted.
He even used his waterproof camera to record me from underwater so I can where my mistakes lie. This was incredible - I completely understood by watching myself back and started to correct my form.
By Lesson 5, I swam the entire length of the pool without any assistance, as well as starting off with an underwater push dive.
Going from fearing the water to swimming comfortably within just 6 lessons, it was really down to the way Navid teaches and the confidence he builds in you to be great. I did 1 year of swimming lessons in primary school, and still never made it past the small pool, whilst all my friends made it to the big pool. Navid did in 6 lessons, what an entire school year didn't. I would highly recommend him as a Tutor.
