About Katherine
I specialize in making statistics concept understandable to everyone, even those who don't like math!
I'm a 4th year undergraduate student at the University of Waterloo, majoring in Statistics and Actuarial Science. I've also worked at multiple large insurance companies using my skills to price and forecast risks, using statistical knowledge.
I graduated high school with a 97% average, with all Grade 12 4U math courses in my top 6 (MCV4U Calculus and Vectors, MHF4U Advanced Functions, MDM4U Data Management).

I believe that anyone can understand math, if they have the right teacher. In my lessons, we will work together to build your confidence in tackling math problems and help you understand mathematical concepts.
In a typical lesson, we will review your past successes and your mistakes to help you repeat what you did well and learn from what you got wrong. We'll reinforce the concepts that you've learned in your lessons and help you work through your practice questions and homework.
As a tutor, I want my students to succeed and grow in their confidence for math. I work with students anywhere from middle school to university students, specializing in math subjects. All of my student have seen grade improvements of at least 5-10% and have grown to at least tolerate it, if not share my passion for the subject.
My students say that I'm a dedicated and engaged tutor who works hard to make sure they succeed and truly understand mathematical concepts.
