About Adam

I’m an undergraduate at the University of Warwick and genuinely enjoy helping other students get more out of subjects that I have always found interesting. Having recently completed my own A-Levels in Politics, Economics and History, I know how challenging it can be to balance a huge amount of content with the pressure of knowing exactly what examiners are looking for.

I try to make my lessons relaxed and conversational, while still making sure that we get a lot done. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, challenging ideas and admitting when something doesn’t quite make sense. At the same time, I’m happy to push students when I think they can achieve more.

My approach to tutoring is centred around making lessons engaging, structured and tailored to each student. I believe that successful A-Level preparation requires more than simply learning content, so I focus equally on understanding the specification, developing analytical skills and mastering exam technique.

Before each lesson, I aim to identify the areas where a student needs the most support. Lessons can therefore range from explaining difficult concepts and consolidating knowledge to working through past-paper questions, essay plans and timed answers. I encourage students to actively participate throughout the lesson rather than simply listening, using questioning and discussion to test their understanding and develop their ability to construct clear, well-supported arguments.

For Politics and History, I place particular emphasis on building strong arguments, using precise evidence and developing evaluation and judgement. For Economics, I focus on applying theory to real-world contexts, developing clear chains of analysis and producing effective evaluation. I also provide detailed feedback on written work, helping students understand exactly how they can improve their answers and progress towards higher marks.

Lessons are typically one hour long, although I can adapt the length depending on the student's needs and preferences. I am happy to work with students on a regular weekly basis or provide more intensive support in the run-up to mocks and examinations.

I am currently an undergraduate at the University of Warwick and recently completed my own A-Levels in Edexcel Politics, Edexcel Economics and OCR History. This means I have first-hand experience of the current specifications, examination structure and demands of these subjects.

I offer lessons primarily for A-Level students, including students who are looking to strengthen their understanding, improve their grades or prepare for university applications and examinations. My aim is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, challenging ideas and developing confidence in their own ability.
