About Jovaan
Outside of being a linguistics major, I am an avid dancer and musician. I specialize in Hip-Hop, Contemporary, and Open choreography, and I play the acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and bass!
It is my belief that these art forms have helped me build a deeper connection to language, that is integral to my teaching method (songs and actions are a great way to acquire vocabulary and understanding!)
That said, I can assure you that my students will receive academically rigorous lessons that also prepare them for examination conditions.

As a linguistics major in the National University of Singapore, I am equipped to help students understand language through practice and acquisition rather than rote memory.
Having attained a 44/45 in the IB Diploma Programme, with a full 7/7 in Higher Level English Language and Literature, I will share my knowledge on essay writing and comprehension skills.
Lessons will last 1.5-2hrs. I am open to taking students from Primary 1 to Secondary 4 (roughly 8-16 years old)
