About Yoshi
I am a student of Japanese descent studying a Bachelor of Science/Advanced Studies at the University of Sydney. I attended an international school in Sydney and achieved a score of 40 in the IB (equivalent to an ATAR of 98). In particular, I achieved a score of 7 (highest possible score) in both Higher Level German and Beginner's French.
Learning languages is one of my most beloved hobbies and I'm equally passionate about sharing this knowledge with others.

My strength when it comes to teaching Japanese is that while it is one of my mother tongues I've also been through over a decade of weekly lessons which has exposed me to various teaching methods and what it feels like to be a student of this challenging language. My strong proficiency in Kanji recognition and production is rare among Australian-born Japanese and has come from a strong personal interest in refining my Japanese as well as an interest in Chinese and how characters are used in this language as well.
