About Rachael
I am a former student at the University Leeds, looking to resume this September studying International Development. I have been dancing since I can remember, from school performances to shows and concerts. I have studied contemporary dance at secondary school, however my passion is in hip-hop, afro beat and urban dance. I have trained with different dance companies and I have had the privilege to choreograph and direct fashion show performances for my university such as Tribal Instinct. I am currently one of the lead dance creative directors at my local church, this position offer me the brilliant opportunity to direct and choreograph shows as well as conferences as big as Cherish, a women's conference that happens annually at the first direct arena.
My goal as a choreographer / teacher is to develop self-confidence to those whom I teach. Dance is a form of expression that when taught well can be used to push boundaries and break walls, my wall was self-esteem. I grew up believing that I was not good enough to be a 'good dancer', but through determined and trusted teachers, I have grown to learn that there is no thing as a 'good dancer', only a passionate one. I hope that you will experience this when you take one of my classes.

Being dyslexic has served as an advantage as I am able to think out of the box when it comes to teaching. I teach by example e.g. I'll teach a routine then I'll allow space for the dancers to add their own style. When teaching a new routine, I enjoy teaching without mirrors as it allows dancers to be creative and not limit themselves by being their own critiques, then only when we have a full structure of a routine is when I use the mirror to polish it.
I am a personal teacher i.e.
I include the dancers through the process so as to make it feel personal to them.
