About Sofia
I took the UCAT in 2018, and achieved a 730 composite, 2920 overall (95th percentile). I scored above 700 in each of the four subsections. I received offers for medicine from Kings College London, Newcastle University, and Southampton University; I received an offer for Dentistry from Plymouth University. I have tutored three A-level students and one post-graduate student in the UCAT; each of these students obtained scores in the 80th percentile or higher.
In terms of non-UCAT tutoring, with over four years experience, I have privately tutored numerous students in the past. My tutees have shown significant improvement in their grades. One of my most recent tutees, went from achieving F grades to B+ grades within a matter of weeks. Prior to the Coronavirus situation, I was an after school tutor for four children aged 4 to 12 for almost seven months; I would help them complete their homework, explain concepts to them, and do extra practice problems to solidify their learnings. I have the most tutoring experience with elementary, middle, and high school students. However, I have also privately tutored 16 students at University level, with each of them achieving at least a B+ in their final exams. I have also conducted SAT/ACT prep sessions, with attendees acquiring scores in the 90th percentile or higher. Additionally, throughout my educational career I have obtained top A+ grades in each of my school/university subjects. I specialise in Math, English, and Writing tutoring.

UCAT is an extremely challenging, unique exam. Practice is the most important thing, however practicing CORRECTLY is essential. I share with my tutee's my tips and tricks to potentially achieving the highest UCAT scores, as well as, walk through the entire exam and step-by-step complete mock papers/questions with them.
Each student has a unique learning style; some students are visual learners, some are logical, literature-based learners. For me, it is always important, in the first tutoring session, to analyse the students' thought-process and try to pin-point their personal learning style. This way, I can adapt my teaching style to best suit my tutee's needs. I also adjust my teaching speed to best fit my students; I am always checking in with the student to make sure they are understanding the concepts and are with me. Having a student thoroughly understand and apply the given topic is the ultimate goal.
I pre-plan each of my lessons, which allows for an efficient, seamless tutoring lesson. All materials (worksheets, practice questions, mock papers, etc..) are printed/saved so they are readily available during the lesson.
