As I enter my second year at uOttawa, my dedication to both my studies and helping others flourish has been a cornerstone of my journey. Having served as a peer mentor throughout my high school years, I've cultivated a deep understanding of the value of support and guidance in academic pursuits. It's an honor to have been recognized with the Good Samaritan Trust Fund Award at my high school for my commitment to kindness, understanding and hard work, traits I bring to every tutoring session. My friends often describe me as funny and patient, and they affectionately refer to me as the "therapist-friend," a testament to my empathetic nature and ability to listen and understand. This empathy extends to my approach as a tutor, where I strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment where students feel comfortable expressing their challenges and goals. Moreover, the encouragement I've received from every person I've tutored to consider a career in teaching or academia speaks volumes about the impact I've made in their academic journey. What sets me apart as a tutor is my background as a university student studying biopharmaceutical sciences with a strong academic record since I was just a little girl. This gives me a unique perspective and depth of knowledge that I can share with my students. Additionally, my experience as a mentor and peer tutor has honed my ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
My lessons are tailored for students from kindergarten to grade 12, encompassing a range of subjects including science, math, and English. Whether it's helping elementary school students grasp foundational concepts or preparing high school students for advanced coursework, I am dedicated to empowering my students to achieve their academic goals. I am able to teach chemistry and biology at any grade level, an math from grades k-grade 10. I can also teach English from grades k-12, preparing all students for university.
