About Emily

Hi! My name is Emily, I'm a 25-year-old 3rd year Chemistry graduate from Leeds. In my first year studying, I began tutoring for a bit of extra cash and fell in love with it. Since then, I have taken on over ten students and helped each of them achieve their full potential in Science, no matter their needs. I have experience in teaching with dyslexia and ADHD. When I'm not studying or tutoring, I love listening to music and going to concerts, as well as watching some Heartstopper and horror films!

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is student-led, allowing the learner to tailor the time to what they need the most. We will focus on teaching methods that best meet the student's needs, taking into account additional needs, such as ADHD or dyslexia. I offer lessons of 1 hour, 1.5 hours or 2 hours, depending on what works best for the student. Over my four years as a tutor, these methods have proved successful, with all of my students reaching their target grades or above.

She would explain the content to me, draw diagrams so I could visualise, and then give me some past paper questions to apply what I’d learnt. She helped me every step of the way when necessary, which helped me achieve a high grade 7 in my chemistry gcse.
