About Alice
I'm Alice and I'm 21 years old. I recently completed my BA in Global and Comparative Philosophy in the Netherlands at Leiden University, graduating with cum laude Honours. This is a unique degree - one of only 2 degrees in the world to combine various philosophies from around the world into one programme - which has provided me with a knowledge of a plethora of ideas around the world.
I am passionate about reading and I love to study texts. One of the most important things that you learn as a philosophy student is to never shy away from a difficult text! Even the most impenetrable of writers can be made understandable when thought of in the right way. As your teacher, I will work with you on your understanding of texts and your ability to engage with it on a critical level.

GCSE and A level tutoring:
Before your first session with me, I will ask you to provide me with the following information:
- which exam board you are following
- which topics or texts you are covering in particular
- what you are struggling with the most/ what you are looking to get from my lessons
After this, you will have a trial lesson with me to see if we are a good fit. This will be free!
Should you decide to continue lessons with me, you can expect:
- lessons tailored to your exam board, learning how to 'tick the boxes' to optimise your grade
- ensuring understanding of key philosophers/religions/ideas
- training in critical engagement with key ethical/philosophical ideas
- training in essay writing and exam technique
- feedback on written responses
General Philosophy tutoring:
Before your first session with me, I will ask you to provide me with the following information:
- which philosophies/ideas you are interested in learning about
- whether you would prefer to be closely reading texts, or gaining a more general understanding of certain philosophies
- what you are looking to get from my lessons
