About Anika
Hello!
I am a third-year at the University of Calgary, but I have a total of four and a half years of university education, as I spent one year at Mount Royal University.
I am currently on the path to completing my BA in History with a minor in English. Afterwards I will be entering a Two-Year After Degree in Education, so that I can pursue a career as a secondary school teacher, specializing in Social Studies and English.
As such, my best subjects are History/Social Studies and English, but I teach specializations within these subjects, like World History, war and military history, and Canadian/Indigenous History. As for English, I am proficient in both classic and modern literature, including poetry, plays, and scripts.
I would love the opportunity to help students learn, grow, and guide them in the right direction in their education and future.

Patient tutor with plenty of time on her hands! I tutor Junior and Senior high students, as well as university undergraduates.
I love to help students to understand all the wonderful things about the history of the world and all the amazing literature it has to offer. My goal is to get students to come out of their courses with a complete understanding of the subject material, confidence in their research and writing abilities, and a new fascination for the subject.
A typical lesson plan would first see us discussing what we need to address for the lesson, and then tackling the problems from easiest to hardest to build confidence and comfortability. Lessons typically end with questions and a quick rehash.
My lessons will always be taught comfortably and at the student's ease. I never pressure, dismiss, or give negative feedback. I aim to lift the student in both their grades and their confidence. As such, feedback is always constructive and never dismissive.
