About Isabela
I am a Computer Science Graduate with over 3 years of teaching programming to children.
I have experience working at two different after school academies that teach children to program.
My time at these academies made me want to teach programming in a more interactive way than simply having students copy and paste code.

I am a strong advocate for interactive lessons that are both fun and interesting. I believe each person is unique and learns differently which is why I tailor my lessons to best fit each student and their learning styles.
Students will learn the basics of programming and how to work with unity, one of the leading engines used by the gaming industry, to create games.
Depending on age and ability, we may start with learning and understanding problem solving before we move on to programming.
I ensure students understand what they are doing before moving on to the next topic whilst also emphasizing repetition and daily practice. Students will be left with homework that will help reinforce what they know.
Lessons typically run for 1 hour per session and are tailored towards beginners. A typical lesson may involve learning a bit of theory at the start before moving on to working on exercises or projects.

Perfect! We have started our lessons with Isabela and we are working on unity. She is good at explaining things at the right level for my son who has SEN and to go with his needs. Isabela is an amazing teacher, friendly and ready to help. Always finding a way to explain concepts and problems in a way that makes them easy to understand. She will make sure you understand the basics before moving on to more complicated topics that build off each other.
Isabela has experience teaching children programming and games development. She has also adjusted her teaching styles when required, such as when she worked with children with learning and attention difficulties. She is passionate about games programming and dedicated to teaching.
She graduated two years ahead of me as we both go to the same university. She has also developed a number of games in her own time as well as participating in numerous game-jams.
