About Ashley
I am an undergraduate student attending the University of South Florida majoring in pure mathematics and minoring in physics. I understand how intimidating mathematics can be and want to make it accessible for others. I am patient with my teaching style and want to create an environment where students feel confident enough to speak up when something is not making sense. There is no correct way to learn a topic and in order to find something that works for you we will work together to maximize your ability to learn in the time we have.

My approach to teaching math is straightforward, showing the importance of proofs with lots of practice questions. Staying realistic about what you as a student will be tested on is the most important. I teach using logical progressions, visual aids/descriptions and examples. I am passionate about mathematics and eager to show students that calculus can be easily understood with the right approach. I offer helpful tips and knowledge about test-taking skills to combat test anxiety so you can be as prepared and successful as possible. My lesson structure is: introduction to a topic, short and clear proof of why this works, 1-2 examples using the theorem or concept then a guided example for my students to try. At the end of each lesson, we will review the topics, address any concerns and assign a reasonable amount of homework or complete a short open-book quiz.
