About James
Hiya — I’m an undergraduate PPE student at Oxford University offering tutoring in GCSE Maths alongside Oxbridge admissions support for Economics-related subjects.
I achieved twelve grade 9s at GCSE (including 198/200 in Maths) and A*s across Maths, Further Maths, Economics and French at A-Level. More than anything though, I know how important it is for learning to feel engaging rather than intimidating. I aim to create lessons that are approachable, and focused on helping students make meaningful progress.
I offer a free first lesson so we can discuss goals, expectations and whether I would be a good fit.

Having recently completed GCSEs, A-Levels and the university admissions process myself, I have a good understanding of the challenges students face — particularly when it comes to turning skills into exam and interview performance and applying ideas under pressure. My aim is to help students develop confidence in their critical thinking rather than simply learn ideas by memory.
I offer Oxbridge admissions support, particularly for Economics-related courses such as PPE, Economics & Management and similar subjects. Support can include personal statement guidance, admissions test preparation, wider reading discussion and mock interviews focused on helping students think clearly and communicate ideas effectively.
