About Arjun
Hi I'm Arjun, I study Maths and Computer Science at Oxford University. I have taught maths to students of all ages. Sometimes, people who can look at any question and see its solution immediately are intimidating and somewhat mystical. We can find ourselves reasoning that their brains must work differently to ours and that they are simply smarter. After all, why else were they able to solve that question and we weren't? I am determined to convince you that it is possible for any of us to get to this level of proficiency in any area of maths with some practice and hard work. I will patiently explain any difficult concept in a way that other teachers may not be willing to do. Students should be reassured that "concepts that can't be understood by them" don't exist. With a guiding hand, it's all within your reach.

Lessons will usually be 1 hour long. Most of this time will be spent identifying weak areas with practice questions, helping the student solidify understanding of a weak area, and drilling questions on that weak area so that it becomes muscle memory for them. I have experience teaching students in Year 8 up to Year 12 with this method and I have found it helps them slowly build confidence on concepts that initially feel daunting. I will also set a small amount of homework which will allow them to feel more familiar with a question type and begin to master it through repetition: I have found that the hand learns mathematics before the brain does. The lessons are aimed at anyone in secondary school, sixth form or anyone applying to university who will be sitting a maths related admissions test.
