About Aled
I am a first-year student in Mathematics at the University of Bristol. When I was younger, I found mathematics difficult myself. With the support of a tutor, I gradually began to understand it properly, and once everything began to click, maths became something I genuinely enjoyed. This experience shapes how I aim to help students reach that same point where subjects feel clearer, more manageable, and far less overwhelming.
Alongside tutoring, I am interested in pursuing a career in quantitative finance and enjoy learning about mathematical models. My academic interests include algebra, group theory, probability, and statistics, which helps me bring a strong analytical approach to my teaching.

I am a mathematics undergraduate offering GCSE maths tuition, as well as support in GCSE sciences (preferably physics and chemistry), for students in Year 7 to Year 11. My lessons are tailored to each student and focus on the topics they are currently finding most challenging at school.
I adapt my teaching to the relevant exam board, including AQA and Edexcel, and place a strong emphasis on building understanding alongside exam technique and confidence.
I use a range of teaching methods, including whiteboard explanations, short explanation videos that students can revisit, PowerPoint summaries, and exam style or unseen questions, so students can practise effectively without using up their own revision materials. Lessons usually last between 30 minutes and 1 hour, depending on what is most suitable for the student.
I have previously helped a GCSE Foundation maths student improve from failing to achieving a Grade B, and I have also supported younger students in strengthening their core skills and confidence.
