About Catherine
I am a current undergraduate student at Georgetown University majoring in Biology and minoring in English. My score on the English portion of the SAT was 730, and I have experience teaching SAT-style prep to others. Additionally, my interests and academic pursuits lie within English literature and poetry, which are commonly used for essay-style writing. Furthermore, I am experienced in teaching essay-style writing for other subjects, such as science and history, so I have a wide range of teachings.

I have experience with SAT prep, formatting and writing essays, and analyzing both English literature and poetry. My lessons will start by navigating personal strengths and weakness to ensure all struggles will be targeted. I use materials from sources such as College Board and Khan Academy to present practice problems that we can solve and analyze in the lesson. Additionally, I teach essay-style writing through close revision of existing writing, models of essay writing, and examples of sentence structures to use. If homework is preferred, it will also be assigned.
