About Anastasia
I am a UMass Amherst Junior with a passion for biology and a biology and computer science background. Currently involved in an on-campus lab with a focus on bioinformatics and bacteria. Courses taken include: Molecular Biology of Cancer and Aids, Organic Chemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics and Genomic and Human Genome Analysis.

My teaching method is inspired by my favorite Professor at UMass Amherst. She taught me that the ability to critically think in any subject is as important as understanding the subject itself. A student has to be inspired by the teaching material to further think beyond just the given material to truly absorb and learn any subject. That is why my teaching approach focuses on tying learning material to everyday life and the big picture, whether it be how a small genetic mutation can effect ones brain function or how the chemical structure of aspirin interacts with the body to alleviate pain.
