About Sawani
Hi! I'm an Architecture and Engineering student at The Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL)., offering guidance and support on UCAS personal statements, interviews and creative portfolios. ☆
Through receiving interviews from Cambridge, UCL and other Russell Group universities, I've gained insight into how to communicate motivation, present creative work effectively and develop a strong application through iteration.
Based on what I learnt from multiple rounds of my own application refinement, I've previously supported STEM students with personal statements and interview preparation helping them develop their applications. I understand how demanding and overwhelming the application process can feel, particularly for competitive courses.
One of the biggest things I've learnt is to see interviews and portfolio presentation not as a test of perfection, but as conversations between people who are passionate about the same subject and are intrigued by how you think. This made the application process far more enjoyable and it's a mindset I hope to encourage in my mentees!
My goal is to help my mentees effectively communicate their ideas, thinking process, curiosity and enthusiasm for their subject to produce compelling applications.

I offer UCAS personal statement, interview and design portfolio guidance focused on admissions criteria.
☆ Personal statement sessions: include support such as initial idea development, detailed iterative feedback on each draft, and refinement of language and structure.
☆ Interview sessions: we'll cover potential question brainstorming, mock interviews, technique development with suggestions and constructive feedback to improve clarity and confidence.
☆ Portfolio sessions: we'll go through examples, discuss ways to enhance your work and suggestions based on my own experience, sharing what I've learned from my application journey.
Whether you’re stuck on the first sentence or need help refining your work, we’ll tackle the process together step by step and make it feel less overwhelming :)
