About Muhammad Ali
My first experience in teaching began with underprivileged students in my home city where I tutored in the English Language and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The chance to impart knowledge, having students approach me and ask about their queries and the feeling that I was making an impact in their lives by fostering an environment conducive to both, learning, and having fun made it an amazing experience. After that, I sought to pursue more opportunities to teach and tutored two more students, one in GCSE History and the other in A-level Economics.
In the end, I aim to cultivate an environment where students openly communicate with me and there is a constant back and forth of ideas and viewpoints over the subjects being studied.

• My technique is fairly consistent by taking a very hands-on approach with respect to the students I tutor. That involves carefully planned lectures, homework to ensure that the concepts are clear, tracking progress and assigning some additional reading material in order to reinforce or better understand certain concepts. Additional material may be in the form of books, online resources etc. I always reserve the last 15-20 minutes of my session for a Q&A where I encourage the tutee to ask me any questions related or unrelated to the content covered or general advice regarding academic matters. I am a firm believer in positive reinforcement, giving constructive feedback and try my best to ensure that the tutee does not see me as an assessor but a facilitator through a friendly, open and non-confrontational style of teaching.
• Typical length of a session is one hour.
• I have had experience teaching students from grade 7 onwards. I have tutored GCSE level and A-Level candidates in History and Economics. I also tutored a group of students in Grade 8 English Language, covering essay writing, improving comprehension skills etc.
• My lessons are aimed towards students from grade 7 to A-level primarily. However, I am open to teaching younger students as well.
