About Luca
I’m a 22 year who grew up in rural Bavaria. I’ve only very recently moved to Vancouver to pursue my Graduate degree in Plant Science at UBC. My previous education is in molecular biotechnology from the Technical University of Munich. In my free time I grow giant pumpkins and still hold the German record with 1052 kg. I’m eager to share my knowledge in both biology and German language skills.

I’m a German native speaker who recently moved to Canada. Back home, I taught Chemistry and Biology for several years. My approach to language learning focuses strongly on developing communicative skills: I want learners to speak as much as possible, build confidence, and lose the fear of using a new language. I also believe cultural understanding is essential for clear communication, so I integrate cultural aspects into my lessons whenever helpful. Each lesson is individually tailored to the learner’s needs, goals, and pace. I especially enjoy working with beginners or anyone who wants to improve their German in a supportive, structured, and relaxed environment.
