About Pearl

I am a highly experienced French language educator, examiner, and interpreter with over 20 years of international experience, working across school education, higher education, professional training, and diplomatic-level communication. My specialization lies in IB French (PYP, MYP & Diploma Programme), Cambridge IGCSE French, and DELF (A1–B2) exam preparation, with a consistent record of top academic results and confident, fluent speakers.

I hold a Master’s degree in French and Francophone Literature from the University of Delhi and have served as a Senior Professor at Alliance Française, the official cultural institution of France. Teaching French is not just my profession—it is my expertise and lifelong practice. Over the years, I have taught and mentored thousands of students and trained hundreds of French teachers, helping learners move from hesitation to clarity, accuracy, and confidence.

I am a Certified DELF Examiner (A1–B2) appointed by the French Government, a Certified Cambridge IGCSE French Examiner, and a formally trained IB educator, which allows me to teach with true examiner insight. This means my students learn how marks are actually awarded, how to structure responses, how to avoid common mistakes, and how to present themselves confidently in written and oral examinations. Many of my students consistently achieve top-band scores, full marks in internal assessments, and strong oral performance.

Beyond academics, I have served twice as an official interpreter for French Presidential delegations, working at the highest diplomatic and governmental level. Interpreting for heads of state requires exceptional linguistic accuracy, cultural precision, and professional fluency, and this experience reflects the highest standard of French language mastery. This real-world exposure allows me to teach French not only as an exam subject, but as a living, professional language used at the most elite international levels.

I also hold the Diplôme Supérieur C2 from Alliance Française de Paris, demonstrating near-native proficiency, along with several prestigious international certifications including BELC (CIEP–Paris), DDIFOS from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Paris (specialization in Professional and Business French), and a Train-the-Trainer certification from the Embassy of France / Institut Français. These qualifications authorize me not only to teach students, but also to train other French educators, ensuring methodological excellence.

In addition to my academic background, I earned an MBA (STEM) from Washington, DC, which allows me to bring structure, clarity, strategy, and measurable outcomes into my teaching. My lessons are highly organized, goal-oriented, and personalized, combining strong pedagogy with modern learning techniques. Students appreciate my ability to explain complex grammar simply, build strong speaking confidence, and guide them step-by-step toward their academic or professional goals.

My teaching style is supportive yet rigorous. I focus heavily on pronunciation, oral expression, structured writing, vocabulary development, and exam strategy, while adapting lessons to each learner’s pace and learning style. Whether you are an IB student aiming for a 7, an IGCSE candidate, a DELF exam aspirant, a university student, or a professional needing functional or business French, I provide a clear roadmap and consistent progress.

If you are looking for a deeply qualified, examiner-trained French teacher with elite real-world language experience, who combines academic excellence, international exposure, and genuine passion for teaching, you will find my lessons both effective and motivating.

  • 1) Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

My fluency comes from rigorous academic training and over two decades of professional immersion rather than origins. With a Master’s degree in French and Francophone Literature and 20+ years of teaching, examining, and interpreting, French has been my working language in classrooms, examination boards, and diplomatic settings. It’s not just something I learned — it’s something I practice at a professional level every day.
  • 2) Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

Victor Hugo represents the essence of French culture for me — intellectual depth, clarity of expression, and emotional nuance. His work reflects the precision and elegance that make French such a powerful language of thought and communication.
  • 3) Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behaviour in the language that you particularly like?

I deeply appreciate the French emphasis on clarity and precision in expression. The idea that language should be structured, logical, and elegant resonates strongly with my teaching philosophy, where I help students express themselves confidently and accurately.
  • 4) Why does speaking this language matter to you?

French matters to me because it opens doors — academically, professionally, and culturally. Through my work as an educator, examiner, and interpreter, I’ve seen how mastering French can transform a student’s confidence, exam results, and global opportunities. Helping learners reach that level of clarity and confidence is incredibly meaningful to me.
  • 5) What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

The biggest difficulty is usually moving from understanding to speaking confidently. Students often know the rules but lack structure and guidance. What helps most is a clear roadmap, targeted feedback, and consistent speaking practice — which is why my lessons are structured, personalized, and focused on real communication as well as exam success.
  • 6) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

One defining moment in my career was interpreting for French presidential delegations. In that environment, every word mattered, and it reinforced how language is not just academic — it’s a real tool for connection and impact. That experience deeply shaped my commitment to teaching French with precision and purpose.
  • 7) How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

Working closely with native speakers and being immersed in French cultural environments, particularly through my work with Alliance Française, gave me insight into authentic communication beyond textbooks. This allows me to bring real-world language use into my lessons so students learn how French is actually spoken and evaluated.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof in language?

What makes me a Superprof is the combination of examiner insight, structured methodology, and proven results. With 20+ years of international teaching experience, I am a Certified IB French Instructor (PYP, MYP & DP), AP and Cambridge IGCSE specialist, DELF A1–B2 Examiner, former Senior Professor at Alliance Française, and interpreter for high-level French diplomatic visits. My lessons are structured, personalized, and results-driven, helping students gain clarity, confidence, and measurable progress.
