About Nicole
I'm a 33-year-old who studied English and History/Politics at Sunderland University, with A-Levels in Psychology, English Literature and History. My tutoring journey began at 23 when I volunteered as a teaching assistant — and witnessing what students could achieve with the right support inspired me to tutor privately ever since.
I believe every student is capable of more than they realise. Whether the goal is higher grades, greater confidence, or simply finding the belief that they can do it — that moment of realisation is what makes tutoring so rewarding.
Alongside tutoring, I have spent 8 years working as a manager in the corporate sector, coaching and training adults to reach their potential in the workplace. I also have experience supporting individuals with a range of mental health challenges and vulnerabilities — which has shaped me into a patient, empathetic and deeply supportive person, both professionally and personally.
I bring that same care, commitment and adaptability into every tutoring session. No student should ever leave a lesson feeling they aren't capable — because with the right environment and support, everyone can succeed.

About Me:
I adapt every lesson to the individual — catering to each student's unique learning style, including SEN and ADHD support. No two lessons are the same, because no two students are the same. My greatest reward is that moment a student truly believes they can do it.

How I Work:
Sessions are one-to-one, fully tailored to your child's needs and pace. Lessons start from 1 hour and can be adjusted based on what works best for your child. I work with students aged 5–18 and create a safe, encouraging space where no student ever feels they can't succeed.

I used to work with Nicole and knew she was a part-time tutor. Having observed her manage a team of 20 individuals, all with different needs, disabilities, and capabilities, and seeing how she catered effortlessly to each person to help them achieve their goals, resulted in me asking if she would be open to helping my son.
My son has SEN needs, and while I was capable of helping with his homework and studying for exams, he was not confident around me, which made it difficult to help him advance. He was struggling with Biology, English, and Maths.
Nicole built a great relationship with my son, which allowed him to really focus and listen to the help she was giving. When a method in maths was being taught at school that he couldn't understand, she would look at alternative ways to approach it so that he would still get the right answer.
She was patient with him and explained things in context so that the full picture was given, which then meant he was able to apply reasoning for something being that way. If he got anything wrong, she would ask questions as to why he thought it was that answer to understand the angle from which his brain was processing the information. Instead of telling him it was wrong, she would then explain the theory again and then ask questions in small sections to build up his understanding, thus leading him to the right answer. He became confident to ask questions if he didn't understand something.
She then taught me how to approach homework and studying with him so that I could then take over. This has led to me now understanding how to help him with his individual needs.
He is doing very well at school now and knows how to approach his studying. I would definitely recommend her.View more recommendations
