About Erika
My name is Erika (she/her), I'm 20 years old and a current 3rd year at King's College London studying History & German. The final years of school were really where I developed my love for History. Due to my passion for the subject and the fact I'm dyslexic, I know far better than most the good and the bad of studying such an essay heavy subject. But because of this, I've been able to develop ways to help and further myself in a subject that I really enjoy and don't want to give up just because I need to put more effort in than most people.
With this being said, I can truly say I understand how hard these subjects are and that I have the mechanisms to help you through them, while at the same time nurturing your own passion.

I offer tutoring for Nat 5, Higher and Advanced Higher History. Having graduated from school with an A in History at Advanced Higher, and my current studies at degree level, I have a keen understanding of the challenges and help needed to excel in this subject.
For History, we will be looking at both exam preparation and coursework. For the exam, we will be going over previous papers done by the student and ones set by me. We will develop their cogency and understanding of proper exam preparation and argument expansion within the paper. For the coursework, we will look at how to start engaging with papers that I myself would use for university work and how to synthesis them into your coursework papers along with strong lines of argument and purpose.
Lessons can be in the range of 30–90 mins, with a specific time chosen beforehand. In my experience 60 minutes is a good sweet spot, but of course this can vary person to person.
The first free 30-minute session will be about understanding the areas that you'd want to look at and having a conversation about things we will develop in future lessons, if you choose to move forward together.
