About Nia
I’m a Python tutor with 13 years of experience and a BSc in Ecology and Conservation. I love helping middle school students take their first steps into coding, especially when we use real-life examples from nature. My lessons introduce basic programming skills through fun projects about plant and animal life. We often explore topics like seed growth, animal movement, and weather patterns using simple code. I use nature observations, easy experiments like seed germination, and creative storytelling to make each lesson exciting. I believe learning to code is even more meaningful when it connects to the world students see around them. Over the years, I’ve seen how using nature as a theme builds curiosity and confidence in young learners. From simulating bird migration to visualising forest ecosystems, I guide them in using Python to explore living systems. I keep things simple, supportive, and fun, so students feel encouraged every step of the way. My goal is to help them build both coding skills and a lifelong interest in science. My teaching approach blends coding with real-world science. Whether it's tracking gene sequences or analysing immune responses, I explain each step in a simple and clear way. I’m especially good at guiding DIY Formulators and Chem Teachers-in-Training. I help them break down complex topics and turn them into practical coding projects. Every lesson is built to grow confidence and deepen understanding. We might write a script to simulate drug effects or analyse protein structures. My goal is to help learners see how coding skills can open doors in modern biology. Let’s make Python a tool for exploring the future of life sciences—one project at a time.
