About Tim
I am a teacher/tutor with almost twenty years of experience both in standardized test prep (SAT/ACT) and in classroom instruction, where my focuses have been AP English (both Lit and Lang!).
My tenure as test prep teacher at Bishop Dunne Catholic School saw a 150-point increase in average school-wide SAT scores and a 4-point average increase in ACT scores—and things have only gotten better from there: with a tutoring company in my hometown of Dallas, I’ve seen average improvement of 200 points and 6 points on those tests. There is no substitute for experience.
In addition to my many years of test prep experience, I was a classroom teacher for 15 years, where my students’ AP Lang scores always exceeded those of all the other teachers in both of the schools where I taught it—my techniques work.
