About Maria
I have experience tutoring 1:1 as well classroom experience. Over the years I have had the opportunities as a teach assistant, camp counselor, mentor, and much more!
As a teaching assistant, I had the privilege of working with a 4th Grade class for the second semester of the year. It was here, I learned how to develop lesson plans and improved my classroom management skills. During my time with this class, I gained experience teaching through the Great Minds curriculum.
Aside from my teaching experience, I am currently pursing a Bachelor's degree in Human Service with an emphasis in Trauma and my goal is to earn a Master's degree in Education. This means that I have extensive knowledge about mental health and I am even certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid!

Typically, in my lessons, I like to include a lesson using discussion-based methods and student-centered methods. This means that my lessons are completely unique to the student and their individual needs. Additionally, I like to spend time on a project that reflects real-world situations, depending on the subject.
