About Rachel
I have been successfully teaching at both KS3 and KS4 for the past three years, throughout this time I have utilised the most up-to-date teaching pedagogy. Moreover, I have applied my extensive subject knowledge with teaching strategies enabling me to get the most out of my pupils. My teaching style is far away from 'talk and write', I ensure to find out what methods work best for the pupil in front of me and adapt my teaching style accordingly. I have been praised on my professional teacher pupil relationship, whereby mutual respect is held highly in a safe and stimulating environment. Throughout teaching I have evidenced pupil progress every step of the way, I am able to recognise where gaps are and plan formative assessments to ensure the knowledge is being retained. Looking specifically at Biology, it is the most descriptive science at GCSE, I am able to expand upon concepts with pupils which require detailed explanations making sure all marks in a long-answered question is achieved. I have extensive knowledge of the AQA curriculum and can confidently teach all three sciences up to KS3, where I then focus on my subject specialism at KS4 and KS5.
As I am venturing into private tutoring, I will ensure an extensive individual programme will be put in place for new pupils, which I am happy to share upon a meet and greet.
