About Gus
I am a professional classical pianist with an MA from the Royal Academy of Music, with a specialism in accompanying singers. I also work as an arranger / orchestrator and sometime composer; it started as a sideline and then picked up steam, and now I should probably stop calling it a hobby.
I think I'm a clear, articulate communicator of ideas, and no question is too simple to ask. I have enough knowledge to work out where we might need to begin in order to fill in some gap in musical understanding.
I am calm, friendly and patient. My other interests include languages (French and Mandarin) and puzzles.

I live in London, and can possibly come to you based on travel times.
Otherwise, online lessons are pretty viable for music theory. All we need are pencils, manuscript paper and probably a piano. PDFs and scores can be emailed, and so on.
I can help a student prepare for formal musical qualifications, such as GCSE, A level (with the dreaded Bach chorales), ABRSM Music Theory grades 1 - 8, and so on.
I am also happy to teach in a more general sense; arranging, orchestration, harmony, analysis - let me know where your interests lie and we'll see whether my knowledge fits what you're looking for. Adults are welcome.
