About Phillip
Hello!
I am a Trinity CertTESOL–qualified English teacher, trained through TEFL in Italy, with over 15 years of experience teaching and mentoring adults. Much of my professional background has been working with adults with disabilities, where I taught communication skills, practical life skills, and employment preparation. I have helped many students build confidence through resume development, interview preparation, and workplace communication, supporting them in finding and maintaining meaningful employment.
My teaching style is practical, supportive, and student centered. I focus on helping learners communicate clearly and confidently in real-life situations—whether that’s in everyday conversation, professional settings, or preparing for job opportunities.
In addition to teaching, I have a strong background in the arts and storytelling. I studied film history and filmmaking and have written, produced, and directed five short films. This creative experience informs my teaching: I enjoy using storytelling, discussion, and creative exercises to make lessons engaging and memorable.
I particularly enjoy working with adult learners, professionals, and students who want to improve their spoken English, confidence, and communication skills for real-world situations.
