About Ivana
Ciao! I'm Ivana, a native Italian speaker who grew up and completed their entire education in Italy. Italian is my first language, and my deep connection to the language and culture allows me to teach not only correct grammar and vocabulary, but also the nuances of how Italians actually communicate in everyday life.
I speak three languages fluently and have experience teaching Italian, English, and coding. Learning multiple languages has given me first-hand insight into the challenges students face, helping me explain concepts clearly and adapt my teaching style to different learning preferences.
Professionally, I come from a software development background, where communication, patience, and the ability to break down complex topics are essential skills. I bring the same structured yet approachable methodology to my lessons.
My goal is to create a friendly, supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and building confidence. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to improve your fluency, I will tailor lessons to your objectives and help you progress efficiently while enjoying the learning process.

My lessons are structured around the core building blocks needed to speak Italian confidently. We start with the essential grammar and vocabulary for your level, ensuring you develop a solid foundation before moving on to more advanced concepts.
A strong emphasis is placed on pronunciation and enunciation, helping you sound clear and natural from the beginning. Italian is a highly phonetic language, and learning proper pronunciation early makes speaking and listening significantly easier.
Alongside grammar, I incorporate conversation practice and listening exercises using real-life examples rather than overly formal textbook dialogues. You'll learn common expressions, natural sentence structures, and the phrases native speakers actually use every day.
I also believe language and culture go hand in hand. Throughout our lessons, I'll share cultural insights, traditions, regional differences, etiquette, food culture, and other aspects of Italian life that help bring the language to life and deepen your understanding.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and are tailored to your goals, whether you're learning for travel, work, study, relocation, or personal interest. I teach students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners looking to refine their fluency and pronunciation.
