I have extreme gratitude for each opportunity I've received and look forward to receiving, to be chosen as an 'Elder" and "Influencer" in the life of a child/student. Being a seasoned contractual educator, I've served the Baltimore County public Schools for 14 years, and my tutoring/mentoring service, "Genius Minds" has prospered for over 20 years, by providing students the educational supports they need, including educational evaluations, consultations; as well as, advocate services, for students with 504/IEP educational plans. In addition, I hold a BA in Human Service Administration, from The University of Baltimore. Students who have benefitted from my service, presently attend, or have formerly attended, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Anne Arundel County schools, in grades K-12, or as a GED student in Maryland. "Genius Minds" inception was founded upon these (5) Principles: Teaching Opportunity, Responsibility Affirmations Historical Facts MISSION STATEMENT: "GENIUS Minds' mission is to provide each child/student with the understanding of and purpose for education; so that, they will embrace the correlation between teaching and learning which will foster, build and maintain their understanding, respect, trust, confidence, and reliance in education. GOALS: (5) Defining Goals: Goal #1: To "Invite" each child/student to "Unlock" & "Embrace" their own individual "Greatness", with a focus initiated during their primary years. Goal #2:. To "Interact" as a role model, for each child/student, in order to foster and build a passion for reading and learning. GOAL #3: To "Impact" each child/ student by providing mentoring support during life altering events that can precipitate educational and/or personal setbacks/challenges. GOAL #4: To "Inspire" each child/student to engage in thought processes of self-acceptance and self-determination. GOAL #5: To provide opportunities where "Implementation" of strategies, such as, but not limited to, the "Teaching of progressive learning encourages the desire for a child/student to take on ownership of their personal, educational, social, emotional, and mental health growth, by adapting "Genius Minds' New Mindset", theory that, "Responsibility, accountability, and self-elevation in a child/ student", can actually begin in primary school."
