About Clare
Hello, I’m Clare. I’m a contemporary artist, Senior Scenic Artist and Prop Finisher with over 10 years’ experience working in feature films and high-end television. I trained at two of London’s leading art schools; the Royal College of Art and Chelsea College of Arts (UAL) where I developed a passion for contemporary art, creative experimentation and the power of visual storytelling.
Alongside my own artistic practice, I’ve spent my career creating immersive worlds for film and television. Working in the industry has taught me how to combine imagination with technical skill, solve creative problems and bring ambitious ideas to life. I love sharing that experience with others and helping students discover what makes their own work unique.
I believe everyone has the potential to be creative. Whether you’re a complete beginner, preparing for exams, applying to art school, building a portfolio or returning to art after years away, my aim is to create a supportive, encouraging environment where you feel confident to experiment, ask questions and develop your own artistic voice.
I’m particularly passionate about contemporary art because there are no fixed rules; it’s about curiosity, ideas and finding new ways to communicate. My role isn’t to make your work look like mine, but to help you build the confidence, technical skills and critical thinking to create work that is authentically yours.
Teaching is something I genuinely enjoy because every student brings a different perspective. Seeing someone grow in confidence, develop their creativity and achieve goals they didn’t think were possible is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

About the lesson
My lessons are designed to develop both technical skills and creative confidence. Whether you’re preparing for high school or university, building a portfolio, applying to art school, or developing your own contemporary art practice, every session is tailored to your individual goals and interests.
Trained at two of London’s leading art schools; the Royal College of Art and Chelsea College of Arts (UAL) and with over 10 years’ experience as a Senior Scenic Artist working in feature films and high-end television, I combine fine art education with current professional practice. My teaching encourages experimentation, critical thinking and the development of an individual artistic voice.
Lessons typically last 60–90 minutes and may include practical demonstrations, portfolio reviews, artistic critique, contextual studies, artist research, creative exercises and constructive feedback. I also provide guidance with university applications, personal statements and interview preparation.
I welcome students of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to practicing artists. I have experience supporting neurodivergent learners and adapt my teaching to suit different learning styles, creating a supportive environment where every student can build confidence and reach their creative potential.
My aim is not only to help you improve your artwork, but to develop the skills, curiosity and confidence needed to grow as an independent artist.
