About Hao
I have extensive teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels since 2012, with a strong record of consistently positive teaching evaluations. I have taught IR courses at Harvard University, Boston University, University of Southern California, Smith College, and Schwarzman Scholars Program. I am deeply committed to education and to fostering an inclusive and intellectually engaging learning environment. In my teaching, I emphasize not only the acquisition of knowledge but also the development of independent and critical thinking. I aim to strike a balance between conceptual understanding and analytical application.
My courses typically begin with a solid foundation in historical context, core concepts, and theoretical frameworks, and then move toward discussion and analysis grounded in real-world cases. By combining theoretical rigor with empirical and case-based approaches, I help students build analytical tools and develop well-reasoned, critical perspectives on complex global and regional issues.
