About Dilan
My name is Dilan, I am an Old Elthamian and am currently an undergraduate student at the London School of Economics (BSc Management). I am a private tutor and have received training in teaching from UDEMY. I specialise in higher level education, more specifically, GCSE and A-level tuition. I have also been trained to teach children with unique learning disabilities through the technique of SUG. A-levels are becoming increasingly difficult with the new reforms – only 26% of students received an A grade (Pearson 2018) in Mathematics. 100% of my 14 A-level Mathematics and Economics students have received an A grade, despite low predicted grades. On average, my students receive a grade two levels higher than their predicted. I teach students individually or in small classes – this allows me to give each student the support they need. The first lesson involves a performance analysis and a V.A.R.K assessment to determine the student’s learning style. My aim is to teach students to learn independently and efficiently, giving them the best chances to succeed in future opportunities. Upon every session, I provide evaluation for students and parents to monitor progress. If a student is unsatisfied with the quality of tuition after the third session, I will provide a refund. With more students attaining university degrees (The Guardian), it is becoming increasingly important that school grades are high to differentiate a child from extensive competition. From experience, I recommend that a student starts tuition as early as possible to build confidence and prevent stress. Prices can be discussed and negotiated on a phone call. Dilan taught me A level biology in 2018, within 3 weeks he helped me greatly using various sources such as text book material, exam questions and his own notes that he had made. I gained clarity over topics that I did not understand previously and What I found particularly useful was his insight as he had recently done the A level he was able to tell me what worked for him in terms of revision strategy and how the exam would be structured, this was something my school teachers could not provide me with.
