About Joy
I am currently a 3rd year UoA medical student who entered via FY general entry pathway, with 9.0 GPA and 3 top in course awards in biomed (medsci142 - 97.1%, biosci107 - 98.6% and biosci106 - 99.5%) along with other high grades, like chem110 - 99.4%, biosci101 - 98.3%, and physics - 97.5%. I highly enjoy tutoring, and am passionate about my students' success.

I can provide in-person or online 1-on-1 tutoring for any of the 4 core papers for pre-med (medsci142, biosci107, chem110, poplhlth111). I have multiple different teaching styles to offer, such as going through past papers and quizzes together, or preparing lessons customized to whatever content you request each week, and teaching lecture style along with going over practice questions. I have tutored for the 4 core papers for over a year now with many different students, so I have lots of previous experience, and am able to adjust teaching styles to suit the student. I have also worked as a blue coat for medsci142, which allowed me to gain further insight into teaching for this course.

Perfect! Joy is a great tutor. She breaks down complex concepts into simple, manageable pieces, making challenging and unfamiliar topics easy to understand. Her friendly and approachable nature creates a comfortable learning environment, allowing me to ask questions and make mistakes without being self conscious. She also asks questions at the end to see if you've understood everything. I highly recommend Joy to anyone looking for a patient and effective tutor.

Super tutor! Helped me through biomed year by explaining concepts in simplified terms. Usually, she goes through your questions or past papers that you had issues with. However, if you want a structured lesson she was more than happy to plan those too. 100% recommend.
