About Ricky
Hi! I'm Ricky, and I've been a tutor, teacher and mentor since 2008.
I've got a degree in Medical Science from WSU and, although I've used that qualification professionally in pathology for 8 years, I've always been more passionate about teaching math, physics, chemistry and biology from primary school to university level.
I'm also a performing musician and aspiring writer, so my music and English lessons are always grounded in my passion and real-world experience. I've recently been working with the Air Force Cadets to create a fun new music program - the first of its kind!
I'm all about the method; to me, "results" come second - unless we're preparing you for an exam, or working through an assignment together, results come from knowing how to learn, not what to learn.

Hi! I'm Ricky. I love teaching students of all ages - my youngest student is 3 and I've taught people in their 70s! Throughout my Biomedical Science degree, I tutored math and science at University level, but I have the most fun seeing that spark of understanding in a new pupil. Everyone knows I like to talk a lot; however I find my lessons work best when we have a dialogue, rather than lecturing. If you're a kid, my energetic and dynamic teaching style will keep you pumped for at least a half-hour lesson, and if you're an adult (or a sleepy teen) you might need a cup of coffee before our hour-long lessons. Over the last fourteen years of tutoring, I've found that when I get passionate about a subject - especially music or English - you'll find it hard not to get passionate too!
