About Leannette
Hi! As a Biomedical Sciences undergrad who graduated high school with an AICE diploma and AP credits, I offer tutoring designed to take the pressure off. I am here to help you succeed, not add more stress, so my structured lessons can easily adapt to students' needs and concerns. I provide flexible in-person or online tutoring for all grade levels and abilities. My approach uses scaffolded learning to break down tough concepts step-by-step, alongside dual coding visual aids and constant positive reinforcement.
A typical 60-minute lesson plan is structured yet adaptable, beginning with a collaborative homework check/previous concept review. I then introduce new topics using visuals, followed by guided, step-by-step problem-solving practice. Each session wraps up with a low-stakes "student recap," where the student explains the concept back to me to ensure true mastery.
What sets me apart is I easily adapt to diverse needs and have some experience tutoring students with exceptionalities. I can break a session into bite-sized intervals for dynamic focus, or translate more abstract concepts into tactile graphics. Combined with my near-peer advantage as a university student, I can bring biomedical contexts that connect classroom formulas directly to human health.
