About David
The Bible is the center of my life and I have always been inclined to teach, so naturally I love to teach the Bible and related disciplines!
My entire life has been one of scholarship, though I have migrated through many fields, from engineering, science (I have a Masters degree in science from the University of Natal, now KwaZulu-Natal), physical geography, climate change adaptation, Geographic Information Sytems and cartography, Christian history and theology, biblical studies and languages, and Messianic Judaism. I hold a second Masters degree, in theology, from the South African Theological Seminary.
My faith tradition has also developed over the past five decades, having grown up in the Roman Catholic tradition, migrated to non-denominational charismatic churches and then Baptist, before joining a Messianic Jewish fellowship as a Messianic Gentile. I am a full-time lecturer in biblical studies at a seminary, and I occasionally preach/teach at my local congregation.

I use the spiral teaching approach in which we first cover a topic briefly to get the big picture and then go through it in more detail before a comprehensive study of selected aspects are taught.
The students I take may be just starting their journey of faith and study of the Bible or mature in biblical faith and knowledge. Whether you are a Christian or a Messianic Jew, my teaching is designed to stimulate your spiritual development.
I teach using Logos Bible Software, of which a free version is available for students; this includes a world-leading English Bible translation and supporting literature such as a Bible dictionary and commentary.
I teach in English and can provide guidance in starting to learn the biblical languages, Hebrew and Greek, at least to the mastery of tools enabling use of those languages.
Students may choose between following a prescribed syllabus or instruction tailored to their needs.
You can expect an enriching engagement with scripture and its peoples, places, prophecies and promises, as well as practical guidance for living according to its instruction and wisdom.
