About Hannah
I am an enthusiastic and friendly tutor, with extensive experience with young people. As a theatre director, I have worked with children, adults, professional and non-professionals, I am an excellent researcher, storyteller and communicator. My time at Cambridge and the personal supervision style of teaching there allowed me to develop my own form of expression and voice, and I am keen to pass on this type of excellent teaching and dialogical form of learning. I am very passionate about quality teaching, having never forgotten my favourite teachers at school! As an ex-History teacher and Anthropology + Politics graduate I have a passion for politics, history and literature, and my current work means I am constantly surrounded by theatre, film and current affairs. Having attended Tiffin Girls` School where there is a close focus on getting good exam grades, I am well equipped to help with the 11+ entrance exam and national curriculum subjects up to KS3 in all subjects, and then also to tutor the GCSE and A levels.
I am also a Child Support Officer for a domestic violence charity. I work with vulnerable children with challenging behaviour, and spend time tutoring and nurturing young people who are having a difficult time at home. I am Arts Emergency Mentor for young people who face barriers to getting into creative industries, and I work with Barbican Creative Learning as an 'Art Mentor' in theatre for their flagship Engagement project which is taken to schools in Manchester and London. I would be delighted to meet your child and help them get the best out of education, which is partly about grades, and partly being prepared for adult life. I believe in a holistic, creative approach to learning, and will always be child-led in my practice.
As a creative person and someone who loves to keep busy, I learnt instruments as a child and engage in arts, politics, sports and am very sociable. I hope to be a great role model for young people and help them find excitement in the world around them.
