About Jem
Hello! I have been giving tutoring lessons on-line and in-person since 2008. I am trained as a basic research scientist and have currently switched fields into clinical medicine. I am qualified to teach biology, and related biology topics. In addition I have created test prep programs for high school students in English & Math. Many of my students have reached their goals of either the score they wanted on a test or the university they wanted to attend. Hope to work with you soon. Cheers!

I like to focus on understanding what kind of learner the student is. Most people are either auditory, tactile or visual and many students don't realize that they can favor one modality over another. Once a student understands what her/his optimum modality is, we can work on creating realistic achievable goals for school work using the modalities in the best possible way. These skills can be honed now, but the students can them in the future for both jobs and university.

Details
I will need 24 hours advance notice to cancel a lesson, otherwise I will charge the full price. Life always happens, so I am willing to reschedule if something unexpected comes up. Lesson packages can always be negotiated. If a student needs more or less lessons, I am happy to work with the students and parents to find what works best for them.
