Hello! My name is Shantel, and I am a certified Texas educator with over 15 years of experience teaching young learners in early childhood through 2nd grade. As a tutor, I focus on building strong foundational literacy skills through engaging, research-based instruction. I use UFLI, Power of Patterns, and structured phonics lessons to support early readers in developing confidence and fluency. A typical lesson includes a warm-up, phonemic awareness activities, targeted phonics instruction, and interactive reading or writing practice. I adapt each session to meet the individual needs of Pre-K to 2nd grade learners, especially those in ESL or bilingual settings. With over 15 years of teaching experience, I create a nurturing, student-centered environment where young learners feel safe to take risks and grow.
