About Fola
I started off with a chemistry degree which gave me solid grounding in the detail and importance of clear language and expression. Very much a people person, this led to a move from the lab to a business/finance space working with teams and people. My nature tends to be one of collaborative working and helping others produce their best work which has left me with a fondness for coaching and mentoring over the years. Even more so now working in TV and film production which again requires communicating in a different way to different groups to get the best impact. Throughout this time, travel and other cultures have been a great passion of mine and led me to becoming TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) qualified. One thing I think is key to learning, remembering and achieving what you want is having fun along the way so I will do my best to help ensure our sessions are fun and engaging.

Learning English and getting the grammar right can be the first step for some, the challenge can come in picking up the day-to-day phrases, easing into conversation and being able to speak confidently in a range of situations. My focus is helping you navigate day-to-day conversational English with emphasis on appropriate/common language for the situation/context, pronunciation and saying words clearly. A native English speaker, my background has ranged from business and finance to acting and TV/film production management. With an interest in all things international, and a fondness for coaching and mentoring over the years, I am also TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) qualified. My sessions tend to be between 45 mins to 1 hr and can be face to face (in Glasgow only) or online and would suit students and professionals. It can knock your confidence when you know what you want to say but can't get it out in the way you would like. I look forward to supporting you in achieving your conversational goals!
